What we know….

This vehicle is planned to be presented with perfect balance, spacious seating for five and in a fully electric model. With an estimated range of up to 300 miles and up to 530 horsepower, the i4 instills confidence in drivers desiring anything from a quick day trip to a longer excursion. Power and efficiency come together resulting in superior handling thanks to BMW’s distinctive near-perfect weight distribution.

Sleek design

The all new i4 is beautifully designed for 2022, made clear in the elongated coupe-like exterior and spacious, cozy cabin. This design started with a vision, and that vision unfolded to include a low roofline, long wheelbase and short overhangs, all of which result in pure elegance when it comes to this vehicle’s profile. A classic coupe design is undoubtedly found here. And thanks to the four-door coupe design, five passengers find comfort within. Overall, its design, which also features twin headlights, is planned to look like a less-aggressive version of the new 4 Series coupe. A double kidney, that is closed, is in the key position to combine brand identity and top technology.

This vehicle is also unique in that it is an electric 4-series in the EV world typically dominated by SUVs. 

Handling specs and more

With its range of up to 300 miles, the all new i4 promises incredible power in its ability to reach 0-60 mph in around four seconds for the quickest model. Demonstrating benchmarks in power, there is also instant torque with this sporty electric vehicle. Thanks to precise aerodynamic design, the i4 is pure enjoyment through and through. 

The all-new i4 is also evidence of BMW’s promise to produce more and more EVs. In fact, it claims that well over 50 percent of its global sales will come from EVs by 2025. 

This all-new i4 will be rooted in an architecture that allows the same model to be available as a hybrid, EV or gas-powered vehicle.

The unveiling of the all-new i4 represents a core moment for BMW. A vision has become reality with this model, planned for high-volume production moving forward. The construction of the new BMW i4 sets completely new challenges, especially the new electric drivetrain and the new high-voltage battery. Parts for the i4 are produced by BMW, bringing electromobility to the heart of the BMW brand.

And instead of building a new plant, the BMW i4 is being built with other models in the existing production lines. it was the largest assembly rebuild of the history of the BMW home plant, which goes back almost 100 years.
