Feast your eyes on the future….

The beauty of discovery is found here. Feast your eyes on the first-ever, groundbreaking BMW iX Sports Activity vehicle, a combination of fast-forward design, power and performance. With a modern, minimalistic feel, this vehicle, which should go on sale in early 2022, is still nothing short of elegant and iconic. An all-electric SAV, the iX shapes a vision, and does so brilliantly with powerful proportions and fine details integrated into an elegant silhouette.

here’s more….

The look of a pioneer…

The iX is presented with narrow headlights that accentuate a brand-new kidney grille, truly a marvel of BMW engineering. And, instead of cooling an engine, it instead houses sensors, cameras and radar. This grille can even go so far as repairing minor scratches using self-healing thermal technology. Even the rear design is impressive with a focus on the rear diffuser, which was expertly and efficiently designed to reduce drag for top aerodynamics and range. Slender taillights round out the rear, and contain an integrated backup camera with internal cleaning system. This vehicle is framed in aluminum and a mix of steel and carbon fibre, resulting in a weight-optimized body. This serves to further enhance the iX’s range and driving dynamics.

The exterior silhouette is a combination of powerful proportions and details that are perfectly integrated. Four framless doors with seal touch door handles, aerodynamic wheels and a long wheelbase is truly the vision of the future.

Modern simplicity inside

The interior of the all new iX is presented with a combination of both modern and simplistic design. With an array of high-tech elements including a large curved touchscreen instrument panel and a hexagonal-shaped steering wheel, the iX is rooted in all things cool! BMW features in the iX a large panoramic sunroof with electrochromic shading as an option. This exclusive and unique feature is found only on a few vehicles.

Power front seats are heated and include integrated speakers for the iX’s stereo system. Faux leather and genuine leather upholstery are also offered but customers also have the option of a textile seat fabric called Loft, which uses soft, microfiber cloth.

Power starts here

When it comes to engine, transmission and performance, the iX is extremely impressive. This vehicle will offer around 500-hp combined from its two electric motors and is expected to launch from 0-60 in less than five seconds! While the size of the iX battery is unknown at this time, it is poised to offer around 300 miles of driving range per charge. The battery pack design is expected to mimic BMW’s i4 sedan, expected to go on sale this year, and carry an 80.0-kWh battery pack. Fast-charging ability will be standard, and will juice the iX’s battery with enough electrons to provide 75 miles of driving range in just 10 minutes.

Also, BMW has partnered with EVgo, giving BMW drivers constant access to the nation’s largest fast-charging network through the BMW Charging app. This makes charging-on-the-go all that more convenient! For charging at home, two fast options are available with installation services through BMW’s collaboration with Amazon. That includes Level 2 chargers like the BMW I Wallbox.

Staying connected!

When it comes to infotainment and connectivity, the iX will be breaking even more ground, serving as the automaker’s technology flagship! A fully digital world is undoubtedly yours! BMW plans to use the iX SUV and the i4 sedan as the launchpad for its next-generation infotainment interface, which is called iDrive 8. This cutting-edge software allows for the customization of menus and graphics, as well as a voice-activated assistant. Natural interactions are yours for the asking!

With the iX also comes the launch of Shy Tech, which features subtle, yet super engaging details like the sound system cloaked by acoustic fabric, radiant heat in the dash and door panels and haptic controls concealed by open-pore wood trim.

A grand 14.9-inch infotainment display combines with a 12.3-inch digital gauge display to create the iX’s tech-forward and tech-savvy dashboard design. Standard across the board will be Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with BMW also offering a Wi-Fi hotspot with a 5G cellular connection. Also standard is an 18-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo system. BMW also plans to offer a 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins set up as an option.
