What we know!
The hybrid M5 in all its exclusivity is expected to fetch a heftier sum than the announced $120,675 starting price for what is considered a normal car. But what makes this 1/1, representing the only G90-generation M5 finished in a discontinued hue, so special? First, it’s the color, a striking display made clear with a stunning BMW Individual Frozen Orange metallic paint job on the exterior, planned to be cut from the Dingolfing BMW production facility initially before the new M5 production was meant to begin. But luckily, they held off for just one car, this very first all-new M5 to be sold in North America at auction.
Other custom details include an extension of the orange to hand-painted accents on the M dual-spoke 952M style wheels which feature performance rubber in staggered configuration. There are 20 inches up front and 21 in the rear, with the complement of matte gold painted carbon ceramic brakes.
Inside this custom vehicle is as much as $57,000 in new and unique options, including a distinctive color setup with M multi-function seating up front which is finished in Kyalami orange and Silverstone merino leather, thus resulting in an exclusive combination to say the least. Headrests are also customized with Pebble Beach logos presented with a new printing technology. The seats are matched with carbon fiber silver threaded gloss trimmings and dark silver accents on the dashboard. A special Pebble Beach logo is also featured as well as the #1/1” badge, which are also present on the door sills.
Also featured is an exclusive Executive Package, optioned on top of those previous $57,000 worth of additions, as well as an illuminated kidney grille, front ventilated seating, powered rear sunshade, a Carbon pack including the roof panel, rear spoiler and mirror caps. The car is also of great appeal with its additional Dynamic and Dynamic Plus driving modes, as well as the M Driver’s Pack for the speedsters, raising the top speed to an impressive 190 mph.
Like all G90-gen M5s, this powerhouse will boast 738 lb-ft of torque from a combination of 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 and a hybrid system. Weight comes in at a whopping 5,390 pounds, which is 1,000 pounds heavier than the outgoing M5.
When it’s happening!
The date is Aug. 16 when the 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1 will be auctioned at no-reserve by Gooding and Co., proceeds of which (above the MSRP) will benefit the local Monterey County Pebble Beach Company Foundation. This worthwhile charity supports literacy and education programs for disadvantaged youth in the area.
A planned delivery following the auction will take place for the winner in October, making that lucky individual the first ever to possess a new privately-owned M5 in North America.
A special 1 of 1 is the last run of a very spectacular vehicle, proof of which is in the striking orange paint and the plethora of optioned extras. See where this exclusive model lands! 1 and done is just days away!
