5 Reasons To Check Out The BMW X3 | BMW of AkronBMW drivers have patiently been awaiting a redesign for the BMW X3. Here are some of the features that make the 2018 BMW X3 redesign worth checking out.

Exterior Design

The 2018 BMW X3 did not see any drastic changes to the exterior body. However, the few changes include an active kidney grille, additional cladding, and an aero bladed roof spoiler. Each of the exterior changes improves the aerodynamic drive of the BMW. The exterior body frame is also slightly longer and wider, improving the amount of passenger and cargo space.

Improved Interior

The interior has improved with an upgraded 10.25-inch touchscreen driver infotainment central control system and an optional advanced BMW Gesture Control feature. This feature picks up on hand gestures to control the infotainment commands. The 2018 X3 also comes loaded with iDrive software which allows you to sync your mobile devices with either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The interior also gives a more comfortable drive with added space and upgraded seating. The sports seats in the M40i model are standard with tri-zone automatic climate controls for each passenger area. The BMW X3 can comfortably hold four passengers and still offers a decent 28.7-cubic foot of cabin space. Drop down the seats into the floor for a maximum of 62.7-cubic feet of space

Convenient Drive

The 2018 BMW X3 improves the convenience of your daily drive with available upgrades including the ParkNow service and the WiFi-hotspot availability. The ParkNow feature searches for open parking spaces and even allows you to pay electronically, saving you both time and frustration. The BMW X3 can also act as a WiFi-hotspot, allowing you to connect up to 10 individual passenger devices wirelessly. BMW X3 can also easily handle towing needs. Pull up to 4,400 pounds with an available trailer package.

Consistent Power

The 2018 BMW X3 follows consistent power standards of previous BMW models. It features an X3 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 that has 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. BMW drivers can also upgrade to the available M40i model which gives a 3.0-liter turbocharged I5 engine with 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque power. Additional sport model trim upgrades also come with power increasing features. The four-cylinder engine and XDrive30i system give you sufficient daily power with a little boost of excitement. Both models come with an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel-drive system.

Increased Safety

The BMW X3 now comes standard with a pre-crash accident detection system. This advanced safety system detects driving situations that could potentially lead to a collision such as hitting the brakes quickly, severe oversteering, or by identifying a vehicle that is too close. The vehicle takes over to prevent an accident or to minimize the damage of an imminent crash. It can tighten seatbelts, close the windows and sunroof, and display safety notifications on the central control display system.

The BMW X3 saw minimal changes over the last few years. The 2018 BMW X3 is finally here and is improved in technology, comfort, and convenience. Come by BMW of Akron to view the latest BMW line in person.
