The technological flagship will feature multiple technologies that are sure to define the future. Scheduled to make its debut in early 2022, the BMW iX is oh so capable — see what the new age is all about and how this brand continues to blaze trails…

What we know so far…

The BMW iX is based on the Vision iNext concept, unveiled by BMW back in the fall 2018. With the production of the iX, BMW will introduce the brand’s first all-electric compact SUV. It is also the first vehicle to feature fifth-generation scalable EV technology. This means it can be adjusted to accommodate vehicles of different sizes and utility.

While the vehicle’s battery size has not yet been revealed, it will be capable of adding 75 miles for every 10 minutes of charge. It can also be charged from 10 to 80 percent capacity in under 40 minutes, and from 0 to 100 percent in 11 hours. The electric driving range is estimated at 300 miles per charge.

Powering the iX, which will go on sale in early 2022, are two electric motors, which provide full-time all-wheel-drive. The iX will offer about 500-hp from these two motors and promises to reach 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. There are also carbon-fiber reinforced plastic body panels which serve to help save weight.
