Birthday parties are an opportune time to let your imagination run wild while throwing a fun-filled, themed bash that will delight your child and their friends. The Akron, Ohio, area features many fun places to celebrate birthdays. Check out these four places where your kids will have a blast.
The Akron Zoo
Plan a wild party at the Akron Zoo and enjoy two hours of science-related fun. The Zoorific Party Package includes beverages and light snacks (a vegetable tray and animal crackers, naturally), party favors, souvenirs, and a trip to your favorite animal exhibit. They’ll even handle the invitations upon request.
It’s recommended you bring your own cake and decorations. Balloons aren’t allowed for the animals’ safety. The $220 package covers admission and parking for 15 guests. Extra admission tickets run $16 per kid and $8 per adult. Akron Zoo members receive a discount. Children two and under aren’t included in the guest count. You can reserve a date for $50, and they recommend booking at least two weeks in advance as slots fill up quickly.
Pizzas, hot dogs, and ice cream novelties are available. Controlled animal encounters with a professional staff member, train and carousel rides, and farmland animal feeding activities are also available for an additional cost. The Zoo is located at 505 Euclid Avenue in Akron.
Akron Fossils & Science Center
The Akron Fossils & Science Center is an educational museum that offers hands-on science activities and exhibits. All birthday packages include a two-hour admission for up to 10 kids in a semi-private room, hands-on science-related activities, prizes, admission to Truassic Park, and, weather permitting, a zip-line ride.
Choose from six birthday themes: jungle, dinosaur, astronomy, mad scientist, crime scene investigation, or icky sticky slime. Kids can make fossil replicas, build DNA molecules, or be a crime scene investigator. Party packages range from $105 to $145. Advanced reservations and a $30 deposit are required. The Center is located at 2080 South Cleveland-Massillon Road in Copley, OH.
CLE Social
CLE Social is a retro arcade featuring throwback pinball and arcade games from the 80s and 90s such as “PacMan,” “Super Mario Bros.,” and “Mortal Kombat.” All party packages include two hours of unlimited play on designated games and a game system rental with two controllers along with invitations, a party banner, and birthday t-shirt.
Packages range from $219 to $469 for five to 15 guests. Additional guests are $7 each. Customize your party with decorations, pizza, sandwiches, veggie and fruit trays, and even a live DJ. CLE Social is located at 186 North Main Street in Hudson, OH.
Rinky Dink Family Fun Center
Another fun venue is the Rinky Dink Family Fun Center at 2390 Medina Road in Medina, OH. Birthday packages range from about $13 to $25 per person. There is an eight-person minimum and a $25 non-refundable deposit. The basic package includes pizza, drinks, ice cream cake, and unlimited mini golf. Upgraded packages include access to the bumper boats, go-karts, playground, and inflatable fun.
