What we know!
This vehicle takes us back in a sense to the standout classic model from 2004 — the E46 M3 CSL. This new model for 2023 not only revives the old allure of this brand, but accentuates it! This fast racing-inspired BMW sport sedan is truly spectacular! It follows the footsteps of its historic ancestor, with distinctive air reflection elements, powerfully shaped wheel arches and a striking rear spoiler — as well as countless other details — based on the legendary coupe design from the 1970s.
Inside, the 3.0 CSL for 2023 is all carbon fiber, resulting in an intelligent, lightweight construction. Its weight is 1,624 kg or a fairly heavy over 3,500 pounds. This vehicle brings forth dynamic exterior elegance, a classic sportswear cockpit, intelligent lightweight construction, a straight six-cylinder engine, manual transmission and rear wheel drive. The driver and front passenger enjoy M Carbon full bucket seats, which add to the racing feel. And instead of additional seats, the rear is presented with a storage compartment with two integrated helmet compartments.
On the outside, the CSL for 2023 has a front end that sits low on the road. At its center is the distinctive and sharp BMW kidney grille, presented with a lattice-shaped insert in a diamond structure. Similar to the side window surrounds, the kidney frame is finished in a handsome satin aluminum. With their flat contours, this model’s headlights create a characteristic focus on the road, with the BMW Laser Light headlights shining in yellow. This detail is a slight reflection of the combination of motorsport and BMW H GmbH’s currently most successful competition vehicle — the BMW M4 GT3.
Perhaps most striking of its exterior features is a rear wing, giving the “Batmobile” appearance. This model is designed to generate additional downforce and thus optimize traction on the rear axle. In an effort to create a dominant visual element, the air deflector encloses the entire rear section.
It is important to note that this model is presented in a very limited fashion, which gives from the start an essence of rarity, admired only by the particularly loyal enthusiastic fans of the M brand. In fact, a specific process goes into creating this vehicle, with a team of 30 specially qualified and experienced technicians responsible for its configuration and assembly.
Its look is truly unique! In addition to wide wheel arches, its coupe-shaped body also is presented with an eye-catching aerodynamics package, which includes a front spoiler, air bars on the front side panels and a roof spoiler.
This is also the upmost power, with a maximum output of 412kW (560 hp) which makes this vehicle undoubtedly the most powerful straight six-cylinder engine and direct injection ever used in a BMW model. This powerful drive system was expertly combined with refined suspension technology. Its drive and suspension technology stems from the latest developments for racing cars and high-performance sport cars from BMW M GmbH.
A paint finish of Alpine White speaks to the sleek appearance as well as the lines on the car’s body, which effectively reflect the dynamic surfaces.
