As part of a recent and exciting announcement, the BMW Group has partnered with the gaming platform AirConsole to bring for the first time an offering that is right up any true gamers alley! In-car gaming, allowing drivers and passengers alike to take part, includes a variety of casual games that can help pass time while the vehicle is stationary. This app, in which games are run directly inside the vehicle’s entertainment system, will be presented for the new BMW 5 Series as well as offered in other vehicles in the lineup in 2024.

How it works!
To take advantage of the in-car gaming, players need nothing more than their smart phone, which in this case acts as your very own controller, and the BMW Curved Display. Once the AirConsole app is accessed within the vehicle, a connection between the smartphone and your car happens instantly and intuitively after scanning the QR code on the curved display!
At that point, play can begin and can include multiple players simultaneously taking part, even including the rear passengers. To that end, drivers can have their very own friendly competition by including their car’s passengers if they choose.
How it looks!
A specific and unique gaming look is presented with a gaming wrap, the design of which symbolizes diving into the gaming experience right down to the individual pixels. These large pixels are very recognizable, while paying homage to what is now an iconic symbol of the 8-bit era of computer games. With a color scheme inspired by the various games within the AirConsole platform, elements of video game controllers wrap around the i5 with the smartphone, the controller, putting a variety of play options right at the players’ fingertips!

Casual and plain fun describe the games that are accessed through AirConsole. They span such areas as sports, music, racing, puzzles, strategy and more! With fun titles like “Go Kart Go,” “Music Guess” and “Overcooked,” downtime within your vehicle, perhaps while waiting for your battery to charge, has never been this fun!
